National Breastfeeding Awareness Month 2024
September 4, 2024
In celebration of National Breastfeeding Awareness Month 2024, Olivarez General Hospital proudly hosted a special event to highlight the importance of breastfeeding and provide education for both our health workers and patients. The event featured an insightful lecture led by one of our esteemed neonatologists, Dr. Abegail Joy Corro-De Pano, who emphasized the vital role of breastfeeding in the health and development of infants. Dr. Abegail shared valuable tips to help mothers achieve successful breastfeeding and offered guidance on overcoming common challenges.
Following the lecture, participants engaged in a lively question and answer session, where attendees were able to clarify their doubts, share experiences, and gain further knowledge on breastfeeding techniques and support systems.
As part of the celebration, Olivarez General Hospital also held a poster-making contest for our health workers, centered around the theme, "Closing the Gap: Breastfeeding Support for All." Health workers channeled their creativity and dedication to promoting breastfeeding into vibrant and meaningful artworks. Each contestant had the opportunity to explain the message behind their creation, reflecting their commitment to providing inclusive breastfeeding support to all mothers.
Three winners were selected for their exceptional posters, which will now be displayed in our breastfeeding room as a source of inspiration and encouragement for mothers using our facilities. These efforts are part of our ongoing mission to ensure that every mother receives the education, support, and encouragement she needs to successfully breastfeed her child.
At Olivarez General Hospital, we are committed to supporting the health and well-being of mothers and their children, and events like these allow us to foster a nurturing and informed environment for all.
