Our History
The Olivarez General Hospital has a rich history that traces back to 1958 when it began as a clinic at Dr. Rosario Olivarez's residence in San Dionisio, Parañaque. The clinic's popularity and increasing patient load soon outgrew the residential setup. Recognizing the need for a larger facility, Dr. Pablo Olivarez, Dr. Rosario's husband, took on the challenge of constructing a dedicated hospital. In July 1974, his efforts culminated in the completion of the Olivarez General Hospital, marking a significant milestone as the first hospital in Parañaque City.
In January 1993, the administration of the hospital transitioned to the next generation. Dr. Imelda Olivarez-Orteza, the daughter of Dr. Rosario and Dr. Pablo, along with her husband, Dr. Ephraim Neal C. Orteza, assumed leadership roles. Prior to this, both had gained valuable experience working as Pediatric Consultants in West Virginia, USA. To further enhance his administrative skills, Dr. Ephraim pursued and completed a Master's degree in Hospital Administration at the Ateneo de Manila University, graduating in 1995.
Today, the legacy of the Olivarez General Hospital continues under the stewardship of Dr. Imelda and her daughters. Dr. Melissa O. Orteza-Sorra serves as the Chief Operating Officer, and Dr. Katrina O. Orteza holds the position of Chief Marketing Officer. Their combined efforts ensure that the hospital remains a vital healthcare institution in the community.
